China will dispatch a Middle East special envoy to visit Iran, Oman and Saudi Arabia in early–mid November to advance President Xi Jinping’s initiatives for regional peace and security. A Chinese special representative for African affairs will visit Ethiopia, Djibouti and Egypt in early–mid November, and a Horn of Africa envoy will visit Eritrea in early November. The envoys will shuttle between regional states concurrently to press for talks and de-escalation, aimed at maintaining regional peace and stability.
