Wang Huning, a member of the CCP Politburo Standing Committee and chairman of
the CPPCC, met Federation Council chair Matviyenko in Beijing on the 2nd and
said China–Russia ties have been steadily advancing under strategic guidance
from Xi and Putin. He said China is willing to follow the leaders’ consensus
with Russia, maintain strategic resolve, deepen practical cooperation, and push
the China‑Russia comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era to a higher
level; the CPPCC will strengthen exchanges with Russia to support bilateral
relations. He also met a Vietnamese Communist Party delegation led by Politburo
member and Central Secretariat secretary Ruan Qingyi.
