At the close of the morning session, most domestic futures contracts declined, with benzene hitting its daily limit down. SC crude oil fell over 8%, fuel oil fell over 7%, low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) and container shipping to Europe fell over 6%, paraxylene fell nearly 6%, and asphalt, synthetic rubber, and styrene fell over 5%. On the upside, glass and stainless steel (SS) rose over 2%, soda ash rose nearly 2%, Shanghai silver and caustic soda rose over 1%, and Shanghai gold, platinum, and nickel rose nearly 1%.
