The UAE said on Monday at ADIPEC it will accelerate energy infrastructure investment to reduce the risk of supply disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz, saying the Middle East war has underscored the need for alternative export routes and spare capacity. Energy Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei said the country must ‘‘prepare for the worst’’ and that prior investment in pipelines, shipping and logistics helped sustain supplies during the conflict. He urged producers to invest in overseas storage closer to customers and said many firms will redesign facilities after the war to improve crisis resilience. The remarks echo ADNOC CEO Sultan Al Jaber’s calls to expand strategic reserves, raise refined-fuel inventories and strengthen infrastructure, noting energy security should be measured by physical delivery points, not production capacity alone.

China and Oman said they will deepen their strategic partnership and boost cooperation in military, security and judicial fields to jointly address traditional and non‑traditional security threats. They urged disputes be resolved by political and diplomatic means, encouraged the United States and Iran to pursue a peaceful course, and called for an early comprehensive ceasefire, a return to the Islamabad memorandum of understanding and the resumption of dialogue to seek a comprehensive agreement including the nuclear issue. The statement said the Strait of Hormuz should return to normal, secure navigation and the two sides will maintain communications on related matters. It urged parties in the Yemen conflict to prioritize Yemeni interests, resolve differences through dialogue, restart the political process and respect Yemen’s independence, unity and territorial integrity.
