Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi answered reporters' questions about the progress of negotiations and the clashes last night on Tuesday during a break at an event. He stated that interactions and information exchange are continuing through intermediaries. Iran's "seven-day solution" is the basis for Iran's efforts to resolve the issue through Qatari mediation. He added that if there is interaction now, it is also based on that text, and feedback has been received. If Iran's demands are met, it can be said that a diplomatic understanding has been reached. Gharibabadi stated that Iran is not a warmonger, nor has it started a war; it was imposed on us by the enemy. If they claim to seek a diplomatic solution, they must abide by the demands that we have clearly stated. Gharibabadi stated that last night we witnessed the events announced by the US on Qeshm Island, and we are still in a state of war. In our view, the aggression against Iran has not ended. This is an important legal point: as long as military aggression has not completely and permanently ceased, Iran has the right to legitimate self-defense. He stated that Iran has consistently declared its commitment to diplomatic dialogue, but this is based on distrust of the United States. Iran is prepared for any situation, and if the United States seeks other solutions, Iran will resolutely defend itself.
