The Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Khatham Anbya, Commander of the Central Command, outlined Iran's plan for achieving lasting security:
1. End the war on all fronts, especially the fighting in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. Negotiations under threat are essentially imposing conditions.
2. Fully lift sanctions against Iran and unfreeze the assets of the Iranian people.
3. Pay reparations for the war imposed on Iran. The Iranian people are not debtors, but creditors.
4. Recognize Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz and replace the defunct US security umbrella with the "Hormuz Mechanism."
5. Ensure Iran is no longer subject to aggression and establish independent security arrangements in West Asia.
