On Nov. 2, 2026 PBOC's Pan met Oman central bank governor Ahmed Musami. In the presence of both heads of state they signed a bilateral RMB/OMR local-currency swap agreement and an MOU on strengthened digital payments and CBDC cooperation. The swap line is RMB30 bln/OMR1.5 bln with a five-year term. Authorities said the agreements aim to deepen bilateral monetary and financial cooperation, improve cross-border digital payment convenience and help maintain financial market stability.
