The International Telecommunication Union said in its 2026 Facts and Figures
report that roughly 6.3 billion people, or about 76% of the global population,
are expected to use the internet in 2026. The ITU estimates around 2 billion
people will remain offline, and access gaps persist: internet use is about 93%
in high-income countries versus 32% in low-income countries.
