The Wall Street Journal reports President Trump told Fox & Friends on Tuesday that "inf problem solved." US Labor Department data show headline CPI rose 3.7% YoY in September; elevated energy prices are further weighing on consumers. Polling indicates the GOP has lost its economic advantage: in July 2025, six months after Trump’s inauguration, voters favored Congressional Republicans on the economy by 12 percentage points; a recent WSJ poll now shows voters favor Democrats by 3 points. Across polls, the economy remains the top issue for the midterms.
