DNC chair Ken Martin said he expects Democrats to score a historic victory
Tuesday, expressing confidence they will at minimum retake the House and that
their chances in the Senate are substantial. He warned markets and strategists
not to underestimate President Trump while he remains in office, saying Trumpism
remains a powerful political force; even as a potential lame-duck he retains
significant power and control over the GOP. Martin named potential 2028
contenders — Rubio, Vance and Hegseth — as Trump loyalists and said it would be
mistaken to assume Trumpism ends with his departure.
