Exit polls show that African American and Latino voters who significantly shifted their support to Trump in the 2024 presidential election largely reverted to the Democratic Party in this midterm election.
The Voter Poll, a combined exit poll conducted by the Associated Press and major television news networks, shows that only 9% of African American voters and 35% of Latino voters supported the Republican Party in this midterm election. In contrast, similar exit polls for the 2024 presidential election showed Trump with 13% of African American voters and 46% of Latino voters.
The Republican Party's vote share among white voters also declined, from 57% in 2024 to 51% in 2026.
