Market strategist James Ooi said US equities' response to the midterms will
depend less on which party wins than on how far outcomes deviate from
market-priced expectations. A clearer post-election political map should ease
some of the uncertainty currently depressing sentiment. If Republicans
outperform expectations, sectors that benefit from policy continuity could gain.
A split between the White House and Congress may slow legislation while limiting
major policy shifts. Ooi also flagged the Texas governor race as market-relevant
given Texas's rising role as a destination for AI data-center investment.
