A New York Times reporter wrote that, according to their estimates, the Democrats have a greater than 95% chance of winning control of the U.S. Senate.
While the final results may not be officially announced for several hours, Democrats have already won or are poised to win the four incumbent Republican seats needed to gain control of the Senate: Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Ohio.
Furthermore, Democrats also have a chance of winning Kansas, Maine, Iowa, and Alaska. Current projections indicate a Democratic advantage in these states as well. Even if they fail to win any of these four states, they could still provide the Democrats with the seats they need to gain control of the Senate.
