China's foreign ministry said on Nov. 4 it is willing to strengthen
communication with Saudi Arabia, Iran and other regional states amid rising
Middle East tensions and urged immediate action to avoid a resumption of wider
conflict. Beijing said it will follow President Xi's proposals to promote
regional peace and security, supports Iran and the U.S. resolving disputes
through negotiation, advocates a political solution to the Yemen conflict, and
will help pursue a prudent, comprehensive approach to keeping the Strait of
Hormuz open. It called on regional states to build a common, comprehensive,
cooperative and sustainable regional security architecture.
