Iran’s Supreme Leader Mujtaba Khamenei said a long-running series of US hostile
actions since the Islamic Revolution — including support for separatist groups,
coup plotters and the so-called People’s Holy Warriors Organization, which he
accused of killing Iranian elites and civilians — have aimed to force Iran to
submit. He added that recent US pressure has abandoned the international usual
pretence and openly sought to split Iran, compel its people, overthrow the
regime and destroy Iranian civilisation. Khamenei said those efforts have
met firm barriers and popular resistance and will repeatedly ultimately
translate into heavy costs borne by the United States and governments under its
influence.
