China foreign minister Wang Yi met Vietnam’s foreign minister in Beijing on the
sidelines of the 11th Lancang‑Mekong Cooperation foreign ministers’ meeting,
saying China will implement leaders’ consensus, deepen high‑level exchanges,
expand sea‑land‑air connectivity and ease trade and investment frictions to
capture emerging‑industry opportunities and broaden tourism and talent
cooperation. He urged stronger multilateral coordination in East Asia forums,
proper handling of maritime issues and joint efforts to maintain South China Sea
peace and stability, and noted mutual support for hosting the APEC leaders’
informal meeting.
