President Trump said the Senate has still not passed the Sunshine Protection
Act, which would make daylight saving time permanent. He said he pushing avoided
the measure before the election to prevent hurting certain senators’ campaigns,
noted the House repeatedly sent the bipartisan bill to the Senate but it was
never taken up, and said he will continue to press for it despite other urgent
priorities.
