Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix fell sharply in early trade as investors
worried that tighter US regulation of data centers and AI infrastructure after
the US midterm elections could pressure semiconductor shares and weigh on
sentiment toward Korean chip names. Kiwoom Securities said the impact on
data‑center projects already under way, existing supply contracts and downward
revisions to earnings expectations for AI‑infrastructure suppliers would likely
be limited.
