Losses by Republican governors in Texas and Ohio increase the likelihood of tougher state‑level scrutiny of AI infrastructure. UBS Global Wealth Management CIO Mark Haefele said greater congressional oversight would not necessarily derail the AI investment cycle, noting any broad federal limits would face legislative and presidential constraints and that state and local rules more directly affect data‑center timing and sitting. If Democratic policymakers enact severe curbs on AI data centers, NVIDIA would face larger headwinds; for now the market is focused on signs of resilient chip demand after recent weakness.
