China A-shares closed with intraday volatility. ChiNext Index rose 0.87% after gained more than 3% earlier; STAR 50 Index rallied over 6% intraday before trimming gains. Shanghai Composite +0.10%, Shenzhen Composite Index +1.19%, STAR 50 +1.68%. Combined turnover on Shanghai and Shenzhen topped 2.1 tln yuan; more than 4,800 stocks advanced. Photovoltaic equipment and precious metals led gains; compute-hardware names spiked then pulled back; cinema chains were active in the afternoon. Coal and bank stocks underperformed.

SEBI has relaxed KYC rules for overseas individual investors from FATF‑compliant jurisdictions, permitting remote digital account onboarding without traveling to India. The revisions take effect Dec 3 and apply to persons of Indian origin who are not Indian nationals and to foreign nationals. Foreign nationals seeking access via the Foreign Portfolio Investor (FPI) route will remain governed by SEBI’s existing FPI framework.
