Nov 3 — The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC)
held a Beijing forum on deepening local SOE reform and set out priorities. It
called for deeper integration of technological and industrial innovation,
stronger coordination of basic research and bigger incentives for researchers.
SASAC said it will support firms to pragmatically and within capacity tackle key core
technologies and industry-common technologies and to streamline
commercialization channels, promoting use-driven research and tighter
research‑to‑application links to accelerate conversion of scientific results
into productive capacity. It ordered full-coverage inspections and rectification
of prominent common reform problems, and the development of mechanisms to treat
both symptoms and root causes and institutionalize long-term fixes. SASAC also
directed deeper Party governance in SOEs, urging integration of Party building
with production and operations to advance stricter enterprise governance and to
strengthen, optimize and expand state-owned enterprises and state capital.
