The National Development and Reform Commission said at a press briefing that
autumn grain procurement has started steadily, with deliveries from the
Northeast picking up; cumulative purchases nationwide stand at 100 mln tons,
roughly in line with last year. The NDRC said that with China's grain production
capacity rising, annual state procurement is expected to remain above 400 mln
tons during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
