On Nov. 6 at the 2026 Mobile Network Conference, China Mobile chairman Chen
Zhongyue said the operator will build a next‑generation network to serve as a
"digital‑intelligence base." Key actions include core network upgrades, deeper
hotspot coverage, dedicated 5G railway networks, and accelerated development,
industry collaboration and field deployment of super‑uplink technology. China
Mobile will deepen space‑ground integration by building the Tianqi satellite
constellation and strengthening near‑shore, island and border connectivity to
deliver seamless, always‑online coverage. It plans to expand international
network infrastructure — including digital corridors for Belt and Road projects
— to boost reach and resilience; promote co‑build/share and full‑band
coordination to raise full‑spectrum network quality; explore cross‑industry
infrastructure co‑construction; and consolidate 5G while advancing 6G and
extending network boundaries across space‑ground, comms‑intelligence and
comms‑sensing integration.
