According to a Reuters report citing sources, Yangtze Memory Technologies Co., Ltd. (YMTC) will break ground next year on its fourth factory in Wuhan, with plans to source up to 70% of its equipment from domestic suppliers. This 70% domestic equipment sourcing target is an increase from the slightly higher percentage (over half) of its third factory. The new factory is expected to focus primarily on memory chips for data centers and artificial intelligence applications, producing YMTC's most advanced NAND flash memory chips with over 300 vertically stacked layers, surpassing the levels of its South Korean competitors' factories in China.
