U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders said Americans want a billionaire tax to fund
universal childcare, tuition-free public colleges and the construction of
millions of affordable housing units. He said it is time for the billionaire
class—many of whom face effective tax rates lower than truck drivers—to begin
meeting their tax obligations.
