The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that in October, the number of people currently seeking employment but not yet in the labor market was 6 million, little changed from the previous month. These individuals were not included in the unemployment count because they had not actively sought work or were unable to accept immediate employment in the four weeks prior to the survey.
