Senator Bernie Sanders told CNN Democrats in the incoming Congress should
prevent U.S. military action against Iran by cutting funding rather than relying
on nonbinding resolutions. Sanders called the illegal campaign and
unconstitutional, said it has resulted in 19 U.S. service-member deaths and
thousands of regional civilian casualties, and cited costs of hundreds of
billions of dollars. He added on social media that midterm voters sent a "clear
signal" to end the campaign.
