The UAE coast guard said it rescued all 22 crew from a merchant vessel that
caught fire in the Gulf of Oman; the rescued are in stable condition. A
specialist team was dispatched after the crew reported the blaze; the crew, from
Arab countries, received first aid and were transferred to local authorities.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the vessel’s damage were not disclosed.
