Hong Kong-listed insurance stocks fluctuated higher in the morning, with Ping An Insurance (02318.HK) and China Pacific Insurance (02601.HK) both rising by more than 5%, followed by Sunshine Insurance (06963.HK), New China Life Insurance (01336.HK), and AIA Group (01299.HK). Recently, the People's Bank of China and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority said they would expand the scope of the Southbound Connect; Soochow Securities said that the expansion of the Southbound Connect will open up a new channel for insurance funds to go overseas, which will help ease the pressure on the investment side of insurance companies.
