European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen: Europe will be completely free of Russian fossil fuels by 2027. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen: During a meeting with US President Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, we discussed Russia's actions in Ukraine and agreed on the need for a rapid and significant reduction in Russia's fossil fuel revenues. We are increasing pressure to ban Russian liquefied natural gas imports into the European market and targeting refineries, oil traders, and refineries in third countries.
