The German Chancellery and the Ministry of Defense are determined to stick with the existing Future Combat Air System (FCAS) fighter project framework or seek alternatives, according to people familiar with the matter. Advancing the FCAS project with Dassault and Airbus would be difficult, but the possibility cannot be ruled out, the people said.
