May 27-29 — The 16th China–South Korea Food Safety Cooperation Committee met in
Qingdao. Co-hosted by China’s General Administration of Customs and South
Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, the meeting gathered regulators and
Chinese customs units including the GAC import-export food safety bureau, animal
and plant quarantine and Qingdao and Guangzhou customs. Delegates reviewed
progress since the 15th session and agreed on measures to strengthen food-safety
risk information exchange, registration management for import-export food
producers, agricultural-food trade security and facilitation, and
capacity-building cooperation.
