May 29, 2026 — Xinxiang Intermediate People's Court in Henan convicted defendant Liu Yingcheng, formerly legally known as Shi Yongxin, of embezzlement, misappropriation of funds, accepting bribes as a non-state functionary and offering bribes. The court imposed combined sentences totaling 24 years' imprisonment and a RMB 3.5 mln fine; the case involved sums exceeding RMB 100 mln. Liu accepted the verdict in court and did not appeal.

President Trump said Iran must agree never to possess nuclear weapons and demanded the Strait of Hormuz be reopened immediately without transit fees.
