The second-draft of the procuratorial public-interest litigation law proposes explicitly adding protections for specific groups (minors, women, the elderly, people with disabilities), cases targeting telecom-network fraud, widespread labour-rights violations and unlawful handling of personal data, spokesperson Huang Haihua said at a June 22 briefing. The draft will be submitted for continued review at the 14th NPC Standing Committee’s 23rd session in Beijing, scheduled June 23–26.
