China's Premier Li Qiang met Montenegro Prime Minister Spajić in Dalian on June
23 during the Summer Davos Forum. Beijing said it is willing to optimize
bilateral trade, advance high-quality infrastructure projects and expand
cooperation in information and communications, green energy, the digital economy
and artificial intelligence. China expressed willingness to import more
distinctive Montenegrin products and to encourage reputable Chinese firms to
invest in Montenegro, while urging Montenegro to provide a fair, transparent,
non-discriminatory business environment. The sides agreed to facilitate travel
and deepen cooperation in tourism, technology, education, youth and sports.
Montenegro said it views China as an important partner, will continue
cooperation on trade, investment, infrastructure and the green economy, and
expects to act as a bridge for pragmatic EU–China cooperation after joining the
EU.
