China's Premier Li Qiang met Montenegro Prime Minister Spajić in Dalian on June 23 during the Summer Davos Forum. Beijing said it is willing to optimize bilateral trade, advance high-quality infrastructure projects and expand cooperation in information and communications, green energy, the digital economy and artificial intelligence. China expressed willingness to import more distinctive Montenegrin products and to encourage reputable Chinese firms to invest in Montenegro, while urging Montenegro to provide a fair, transparent, non-discriminatory business environment. The sides agreed to facilitate travel and deepen cooperation in tourism, technology, education, youth and sports. Montenegro said it views China as an important partner and will continue cooperation on trade, investment, infrastructure and the green economy, and expects to act as a bridge for pragmatic EU–China cooperation after joining the EU.
