Samsung vice chairman Lee Jae‑yong said the company is in a "race against time" and has sped up plans to build semiconductor fabs in the Seoul metropolitan area. Gwangju (southwest South Korea) will be developed as a new memory manufacturing base; Cheonan and Onyang will be designated high‑bandwidth memory (HBM) packaging centers. Samsung also plans to deploy humanoid robots at its Gumi (North Gyeongsang) fab and increase related investment.

June 29 — The inaugural China–Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Conference was held in Qingdao, Shandong. Government officials, scientists, technology executives and young innovators discussed AI applications, frontier technology transfer and shared innovation resources. Organizers released lists of 100 China–SCO technology achievements and 100 cooperative needs, oversaw concentrated signing of SCO-country science and technology cooperation projects, and launched an SCO member-states youth innovation and entrepreneurship competition.
