Lebanese military said a suspected explosive device detonated on a military vehicle in the Mansouri area, killing one soldier and wounding another.

CENTCOM said U.S. forces ended a seventh consecutive night of strikes on Iran at 9:30 p.m. ET on July 17. Strikes struck reconnaissance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage and maritime targets, using fighters, drones, warships and other assets. CENTCOM said it is following commander direction to continue holding Iran accountable and is fully enforcing a maritime blockade of Iranian ports. More than 50,000 U.S. service members are deployed in the Middle East, remaining vigilant with lethal strike capability and on standby.

China launched a Space Computing Services Special Committee on July 18 during the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, initiated by the MIIT Center for SME Development Promotion under the China Association for International Cooperation on Small and Medium Enterprises. The committee, China’s first nationwide industry coordination platform focused on space computing for SMEs, will build an integrated industry-matching vehicle to help SMEs link the space-to-ground computing value chain and support high-quality development of China’s aerospace information industry. Dongfang Tiansuan will serve as a standing council member and, with more than 40 upstream and downstream industry participants, will jointly construct an industry hub integrating industry, academia, research and application.
