Indian refiners are helping Russian exporters absorb record crude supplies, with large volumes routed to the South Asian market. Vessel-tracking data show India ports received Russian crude at an average of more than 2.3 million bpd last month; deliveries July-to-date are near that level. Where shipments were nearly zero before the Russia-Ukraine war, India has become a major buyer, easing seaborne build-ups. US sanctions still target some major Russian producers, but buyers continue to source Russian crude and exports have risen since sanctions introduced late last year, often via intermediaries.

Under guidance from MIIT’s Information and Communication Administration, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and core upstream-to-downstream industry partners have launched an NTN (non-terrestrial networks) satellite communications pioneer initiative. The program will deploy an integrated ground–space simulation, testing and pilot verification platform to tackle key NTN-based space–ground integration technologies, conduct end-to-end trials and validation, and combine three core capabilities—simulation, performance testing and reliability assessment—into a full lifecycle loop from digital simulation to hardware testing to in-orbit verification.
