A DIHK annual survey of over 3,000 firms found nearly half reported higher electricity prices and more than two-thirds saw heating costs rise over the past year. About one-third said they have postponed investment due to high energy costs; nearly one-fifth are considering cutting domestic capacity or shifting production abroad, and some firms have already done so.

Beijing reported 1H 2026 new passenger-car L2 combined assisted-driving penetration at 77.5%, above the national average of ~70%. BAIC’s Arcfox Alpha S is among the first nationally certified L3 conditional automated-driving production models, achieving legal road operation and initial commercial deployment. Next steps will prioritize higher-level autonomous-vehicle industrialization, dual-intelligence 4.0 development, core technology R&D, and Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei industry coordination to build a global-scale cluster.
