A DIHK annual survey of over 3,000 firms found nearly half reported higher
electricity prices and more than two-thirds saw heating costs rise over the past
year. About one-third said they have postponed investment due to high energy
costs; nearly one-fifth are considering cutting domestic capacity or shifting
production abroad, and some firms have already done so.
