July 27 — The National Administration of Financial Regulation said at a party-building and mid-2026 work meeting it will steadily advance reform-led risk resolution of small- and medium-sized financial institutions and effectively prevent and resolve risks in key sectors. The regulator stressed resolving downside risks as a priority, reiterating resolve to prevent systemic financial risk and to pursue problem-oriented, strict supervision while maintaining its supervisory mandate. NAFR said it will push firms to accelerate reform and transformation, promote differentiated positioning across institutions, and deploy multiple measures to improve industry ecology and enhance finance–economy alignment. The meeting also ordered preparations for recent safety-production issues and arrangements for emergency financial service support.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman BAGHAEI said Iran chiefly attributes the 'military aggression' against it to the United States, but added it 'cannot ignore the participation of regional states' and urged those states not to continue cooperating with the US in actions against Iran.
