U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said in a Fox News interview this weekend that under President Trump Iran is facing a fundamentally different U.S. president and can no longer expect to negotiate without consequences. Iran foreign ministry spokesman BAGHAEI said the Strait of Hormuz "will never revert to pre-war status." He said talks with Oman are bilateral and concern mechanisms to protect each side's interests, not the opening or closing of the waterway. BAGHAEI blamed the strait's closure on "US sabotage and an American maritime blockade," and said Iran will act according to national interests and will not be swayed by threats or media pressure.
