Israeli officials estimate Trump may again shift his stance toward Iran, Channel 12 reports.

U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said in a Fox News interview this weekend that under President Trump Iran is facing a fundamentally different U.S. president and can no longer expect to negotiate without consequences. Rubio said Iran "has never faced a U.S. president like President Trump — a man who actually takes action," and accused Tehran of relying for decades on global leniency to lie, renege on agreements and deceive negotiators. The White House said that after alleged Iranian attacks on commercial shipping and U.S. forces following a memorandum of understanding, Iran "will continue to pay" until it returns to talks in a way President Trump deems "meaningful."

Iran foreign ministry spokesman BAGHAEI said the Strait of Hormuz "will never revert to pre-war status." He said talks with Oman are bilateral and concern mechanisms to protect each side's interests, not the opening or closing of the waterway. BAGHAEI blamed the strait's closure on "US sabotage and an American maritime blockade," and said Iran will act according to national interests and will not be swayed by threats or media pressure.
