The U.S. ambassador to Lebanon said Washington is pleased talks in Rome are continuing and hopes the governments of Lebanon and Israel achieve a successful outcome.

Iran foreign ministry spokesman Baghaei said Iran is not negotiating with the United States and is holding talks with Oman solely to secure safe passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. He said Tehran and Muscat aim to consult at the earliest opportunity to agree a principled, temporary shipping route to ensure transit safety, and described the process as a bilateral matter between the two littoral states. Baghaei added that the Strait’s blockade is the result of U.S. actions and that the situation will not change while the maritime blockade and U.S. incursions continue.

Aug 3 — Rumors circulated that Zhiyuan Robotics’ chief scientist Luo Jianlan had recently left. The company responded that Luo has not left and has undergone an internal role adjustment. On the same day Zhiyuan posted a full partners list on its website showing team members from Huawei, Google, Tencent, DJI and Cambricon with experience across AI R&D, product engineering, global commercialization and government‑enterprise relations.
