Iraq's foreign ministry on the 11th strongly condemned Colombia's decision to
recognize Israeli "sovereignty" over the occupied Golan Heights, saying the
territory is Syrian and that no party may change its legal status or confer
legitimacy on the occupier. The ministry said Colombia's move has no legal force
and does not alter the fact that the Golan Heights are an inseparable part of
Syrian territory.
