Goldman Sachs trimmed its Thailand 2026 GDP forecast to 1.8% from 1.9% after a
sharp second-quarter slowdown, analysts Chris Po and Danny Suwanapruti said.
Domestic demand weakened as both private and public consumption fell; private
consumption contracted for the first time since Q3 2021, with declines across
services and goods. Private investment, roughly two-thirds of total investment,
remained resilient but was offset by a large drop in public investment.
