Libya's National Oil Corporation says it needs about $30–40 bln to develop oil and gas resources and regain a leading role in global crude production, targeting output growth from roughly 1.4 mln bpd to 2.0 mln bpd by 2030. NOC chairman Masoud Suleman said more than 60 discovered fields remain undeveloped and that funding shortages are delaying projects. According to the EIA, Libya holds Africa's largest proved oil reserves. International majors including Eni, TotalEnergies, Chevron and ConocoPhillips operate in Libya but investment progress has been slow.

Yichun Ecological Environment Bureau has proposed to accept the environmental impact assessment (EIA) filing for CATL’s Yichun New Energy Mining Co. Zhenkouli (Yifeng County)–Jianxiawo (Fengxin County), Jiangxi lithium mining project. The EIA report and public participation statement are in a pre-acceptance public notice from Aug. 17 to Aug. 28, 2026 (10 working days). The filing discloses an annual mining plan of 30 mln t of ceramic clay containing lithium, down from 45 mln t pre-shutdown, a roughly 30% reduction. Proposed acceptance does not equal approval; the project still requires approval-stage publicity, expert review and may be affected by public comments.
