The 2026 Green Computing (AI) Conference in Hohhot saw 13 projects signed totaling 136.1 bln yuan, focused on GW-scale AI compute and data-center infrastructure. Projects are split between Hohhot (8) and Ulanqab (5). Hohhot deals include a Volcano Engine GW-scale park, a Cambricon chip laboratory and a Haiwu compute-equipment industrial park. PowerChina said the molten-salt storage tank at the Tibet Kaitou Anduo tower concentrated solar power (CSP) project passed its water-fill test on the first attempt, confirming installation quality of the project's heat-storage system and moving Tibet's first tower CSP — and the world's highest-altitude CSP plant — a key step closer to full-capacity grid connection.
