Business Insider reported Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told President Trump last month he opposed plans for a national AI regulator. Sources said Trump phoned Zuckerberg the week of Aug. 17 to discuss a White House consideration of a FINRA-style independent body, a proposal from DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis to subject advanced AI models to review and risk testing.
