Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman BAGHAEI said on Sept. 11 Iran, Iraq and other Gulf littoral states will meet in Oman on Sept. 14 to discuss regional issues, including the results of Iran‑Oman talks on maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz. He said the meeting aims to improve mutual understanding and strengthen collective regional security. BAGHAEI added Iran is committed to ensuring shipping safety in the strait but said shipping security cannot be guaranteed as long as US maritime blockades, economic warfare and other illegal interference continue.
